When there is something
strange, in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?
The Force, that’s who.
Dedicated to bringing
people the best and most detailed information about ghosts of Northwest Indiana
and beyond, members of The Force are not professional ghost investigators, but
rather investigate the paranormal as a hobby. This group of young men seeks out
areas, structures, cemeteries, and streets with a reported history of
unexplainable activity to look for proof of that activity.
A recent poll on The
Force’s web site currently lists Dog Face Bridge
in San Pierre, a town of around 300 in
Starke County
as Indiana’s most haunted place.
The story
of Dog Face Bridge goes like this:
In the
1950's a couple was driving over the bridge heading out on their honeymoon.
When a dog ran out in front of them, the couple swerved and ended up driving
off the side of the bridge, killing the dog. In the accident, the woman's head
and the dogs head were both chopped off, but authorities were unable to find the
woman's body or the dog’s head.
It is said
as you walk down the path today there are two bridges; the first bridge is weak
and very old and the second is the one the couple crashed off of. This bridge
is no longer there, but you can see the cement sidings from where it once stood.
Supposedly, when you go down the path you will see the body of the woman
wearing the dog’s head, and if you do not beat her
off of the first bridge and back to your car she will kill you by eating you
alive.
