Hoosier
Gazette essay contest: What would you do if you could take lame duck governor
Joe Kernan’s place for a day?

Put yourself in Joe
Kernan’s shoes: you have lost the gubernatorial election and are just biding
your time for a couple of months until governor-elect Mitch Daniels takes
office. How do you fill your time?
Knowing you can retire and
never participate in public life again, do you shed the nice-guy persona you
normally have in front of the cameras and tell the media where they can stick
their cameras and laptops? Do you just sit around your office in a t-shirt and
drink beer?
The Hoosier Gazette would
like to know how you would spend your time if you could be in Governor Kernan’s
shoes for one day. For the next two weeks, send in your essays (300 words or
less) to
gov@hoosiergazette.com with your name and address. The Hoosier Gazette
staff will judge all submissions and announce the top three winners on December
19. Winners will receive a Hoosier Gazette t-shirt and have their essays posted
on our home page for all to appreciate.
