Another hunk of crap the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana hopes to salvage Historic Landmarks Foundation saves hunks of crap from destruction By Bernie Peterson, THG News The Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana announced its annual 10 Most Endangered list in January 2004, calling attention to crappy buildings “threatened with extinction by deterioration, demolition, obsolescence, development pressure and sprawl”. Six pieces of crap from the 2003 list reappear on the roster this year, joined by four new entries. According to the foundation, Indiana’s ten most endangered landmarks in 2004 are (click the name of the landmark for more information):
The Foundation works to prevent owners of properties from being able to tear down their old-assed buildings to clear the way for new ones so other people can enjoy looking at these buildings and be happy they do not have to live or work in them. If you hate progress as much as the Historical Landmarks Foundation of Indiana and have money to burn preserving a building that will cost ten times as much to fix than to tear down and build a new building, you can donate to the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana at their website, www.historiclandmarks.org.
